Been a little busy behind the scenes

A new direction for the newsletter, an Etsy shop, and getting back to basics with self-care

Hey everyone!

The newsletter, and all the work that goes with it, has basically become my passion project at this point. As much as I would love to focus my efforts on it full-time, it’s just not feasible right now. My writing work has to take precedence right now, as it’s what’s paying the bills.

But I’m not walking away from the newsletter. And I’m making efforts to expand what I offer here. So here’s what I want to share with you today.

First, I’ve opened an Etsy shop. It only has 10 products right now, but there’s a lot more to come. You’ll find affirmation cards with beautiful images, a variety of planners and journals, word search printables, coloring pages, meditation audios, and more. I’ll be adding more products today and tomorrow, so do feel free to check it out.

Also, since I just opened the shop, I’m offering a sale of 20% off all items in the shop through November 17th. And as a thank you for being on my email list and sticking with me, I’m giving you an additional 10% off everything in the shop! Just use the promo code NEWSLETTER when you make your purchase.

So if you see anything you like, don’t hesitate to buy so you can save some money.

There’s a Thanksgiving Planner and a Everything’s Under Control… Christmas Planner that you might be interested in if you’re hosting the holidays this year - or just looking to be more organized with your own little family. And they’re included in the 20% off sale and your extra 10% off.

(The affirmation cards would make beautiful and elegant Christmas gifts, by the way.)

Where’s the newsletter going?

So I’ve finally figured out the direction the newsletter is going to take. We’re going to experiment a bit. I want to make this something like group coaching but through the newsletter.

There will be articles, activities, worksheets, and meditations. I’ll also be creating a podcast that will go out in the newsletter - but it will be more like a class. Occasionally, there will be video classes too.

What I want is for this to be a coaching session/class that you can access on your own schedule - and straight from your inbox. As a single mom myself, I know how hard it is to make it to scheduled appointments - especially when they’re on someone else’s schedule.

And I also know how hard it is to find time to do something when you have to go to a website or something to do it - you don’t feel like even making the effort to click that link.

But if it’s all right in your inbox, you can easily just open that email, read, print off worksheets, listen to the podcasts/classes, and do all the other work right there. Middle of the day, middle of the night - makes no difference. Got 5 minutes to kill in the school pick-up line? Open that email and get busy!

I’m hoping this will turn out to be the beautiful thing I’m envisioning. Once we get started, I’d love to hear your feedback.

Coming up

With all that in mind, here are some upcoming things in the newsletter:

Starting December 1st, we’ll be doing a 30-Day Self-Care Challenge for Busy Moms. You’ll get a journal on the first day, and each day, I’ll send you a short message with the day’s activity, some encouragement, and a link to the thread where we can chat about how it’s going, how to improve it, or any struggles you’re having - or how great it’s going!

In January, I’ll be beginning the paid program, Taking Care of You: A Year of Self-Care. To participate, you will need to be a paid subscriber of the newsletter. Each month, we’ll cover a different topic of self-care. We’ll spend the month exploring activities that can help improve your self-care in that area, including your own ideas.

I’ll be back next week with more information on both the new direction of the newsletter and the two programs coming up.

In the meantime, thanks for sticking with me. I promise, it’s going to be worth it.
