Sorry for the silence (but I do have an excuse)

So it’s been about a month since I last sent out an email to you guys. And I do apologize for that. But I also have a reason.

A couple, actually.

First is the simple truth: Like everyone, I got super busy. Though it took longer to really impact my meditation work, Covid did eventually begin to take its toll. I had to turn my attention more heavily to my freelance writing work in order to pay the bills.

On top of that, my youngest son was accepted to welding school, and we’ve spent the last month running around getting some placement testing the school required done, applying for and interviewing for his first job, getting his driving permit upgraded to a license, registering and tagging his new car (a gift from his brother), and the 1,000 other things we needed to get done before he starts working and going to school full-time.

It’s been a very busy period in my life.

I think things are beginning to settle down now. It’s very different than it has been before. My youngest is still only 17, but he’s very much living like an adult now, working and going to school. He’s not going to be home with me all the time anymore. So I’m settling into a new normal, where I have children who have different schedules that I need to keep track of and, eventually, neither need to ask my permission or even tell me where they’re going.

It’s a new, unusual, and for the moment, uncomfortable feeling. It’s going to take some time to adjust to these changes. And of course, that means I’m a little anxious, with fears both normal and absurd frequently bubbling up in my mind.

Which is why I’m bumping up my self-care game. And I want to help you do the same.

And that brings me to the second reason for my silence over the last month. I’ve been working on something. I had been working on it all along, but it was very hit or miss, getting it fit in between all the other things I was trying to keep up with. And I really wanted to get it done.

So I spent the last month finishing it up and now I’m just about ready to release it. In fact, I’m going to release it July 3rd!

It’s called Your Year of Self-Care. It’s a full year of self-care, with a different topic as the focus of each month. There will be a discussion of the month’s topic, suggested practices, simple worksheets you can fill out to track your progress and see how a particular topic is going for you, and videos and/or audios to make it easier to stay on track even if you’re on the go. There will also be opportunities to ask questions, get help with struggles, and even get 1:1 tips and advice to improve your self-care.

Now, the catch here is that this has been a long work in progress and takes a lot of my time to put together. So while it is going to be here on the newsletter, it is going to be a paid component. The Year of Self-Care will be its own section of the newsletter but only paid subscribers will have access to the content.

Subscribing to the newsletter is just $15 per month or $150 if you subscribe for the whole year (that’s two months free). For that price, you’ll get access to Your Year of Self-Care, plus additional benefits like:

  • Early access to upcoming meditation classes

  • Free digital downloads of my workshops, courses, and other content

  • Other paid content not available elsewhere

Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sending you a few emails related to self-care, the top positive practices you should include in your self-care. It’s a very small taste of what the new program can give you.

I’ll also be sending you my report of 21 quick tips for making self-care a priority in your life - and trust me, it does need to be a priority!

And finally, I’ll also be sending a short video that will outline Your Year of Self-Care with each month’s topic and a few bits of info about it so you can decide if you want to subscribe and take part.

I promise, it’s going to be a ton of fun and will really help you improve your self-care. And now, more than ever, self-care is crucial to your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Keep an eye on your inbox for those emails. And if you have any specific questions about Your Year of Self-Care, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email (or any of them) and ask.
